La chiesa è dedicata a San Pietro in Vincoli.
Intorno al 1500, sul luogo dell'attuale chiesa, fu costruita una chiesa a croce con una navata.
Nel 1880-1882 la chiesa fu ampliata secondo il progetto dell'architetto Jan Jurien van Langelaar.
Nel 1931-1932, la chiesa ricevette a est del transetto allora esistente una navata aggiuntiva e la chiesa ottenne navate laterali.
Nel 1944, durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, la torre fu distrutta e ne fu distrutta anche una parte della navata.
