Il giardino dietro il Bassecour, l'attuale Torckpark, era un tempo il giardino sperimentale dell'università. Solo la casa del giardiniere (di fronte al ponticello) è rimasta. Sull'Spijk ci sono otto case per i lavoratori della precedente fabbrica di concia.
Il Torckpark è uno dei posti più belli di Wageningen. Con i resti delle mura cittadine e del castello, alberi maestosi secolari, il pittoresco canale cittadino, il Wallenpad e splendidi prati che ora attirano molti Wageningers a sedersi o sdraiarsi. E non solo il 5 maggio e come sabato scorso al meraviglioso festival musicale di origine Wageninghese Woetstok. Il Torckpark è la riuscita variante Wageninghese del Vondelpark di Amsterdam, e questo va preservato.
