Sebbene la città di Sluis contasse nel XV secolo ben sette mulini a vento, la maggior parte di essi è stata demolita. Gli ultimi due, entrambi mulini a palo in legno, nel 1926 e nel 1937. È rimasto De Brak, chiamato così da una razza di cani, costruito nel 1739 e situato su un terrapieno di 2,5 m. È stato il primo mulino in pietra di Sluis.
