Selvom byen Sluis i det 15. århundrede havde op til syv vindmøller, er de fleste af dem blevet revet ned. De sidste to, begge træstandermøller, i 1926 og 1937. Den, der er tilbage, er De Brak, opkaldt efter en hunderace, som blev bygget i 1739 og ligger på en 2,5 m høj møllebund. Det var den første stenmølle i Sluis.
