Il Gein è un torrente lungo circa 6 km tra Driemond e Abcoude. Collega la Gaasp e il Piccolo Weesp con l'Angstel e scorre a ovest del canale Amsterdam-Rijn completamente all'interno dei confini di Abcoude, dal 1 gennaio 2011 comune di Ronde Venen. Fino al 1 agosto 1966, la parte orientale, oltre Velterslaan, si trovava però nel preesistente comune di Weesperkarspel e dal 1966 al 1989 nel comune di Amsterdam. La parte dentro Abcoude fino all'Angstel si chiama, poiché lì è molto stretta, il Nauwe Gein dove il ponte Nauwe Gein collega la Piazza della Chiesa con Hoogstraat.
