Il Diario di Anna Frank è la raccolta in volume degli scritti, in forma di diario e in lingua olandese, di Anna Frank , una ragazza ebrea nata a Francoforte e rifugiatasi con la famiglia ad Amsterdam, costretta nel 1942 a entrare nella clandestinità insieme alla famiglia per sfuggire alle persecuzioni e ai campi di sterminio nazisti.
Nell'agosto del 1944 i clandestini vennero scoperti e arrestati; furono condotti al campo di concentramento di Westerbork; da qui le loro strade si divisero ma, ad eccezione del padre di Anna, tutti quanti morirono all'interno dei campi di sterminio nazisti. Dopo essere stata deportata nel settembre 1944 ad Auschwitz, Anna morirà di tifo a Bergen-Belsen, nel febbraio o marzo del 1945.
