L'isola di Tavira si trova a sud della città di Tavira, in Portogallo, a pochicento metri dalla costa. È lunga 11 chilometri e varia tra 150 m e 1 km di larghezza. L'isola ha 11 km delle migliori spiagge dell'Algarve, comprese aree in cui il naturismo può essere praticato legalmente. Fa parte della riserva naturale di Ria Formosa. È anche popolare tra i turisti, le persone che amano nuotare e gli appassionati di birdwatching.
