Il Federal Bureau of Investigation , noto con la sigla FBI , è un'agenzia governativa di polizia federale degli Stati Uniti d'America. Ha la competenza in tutti gli stati per alcuni reati tra cui l'antiterrorismo e l'intelligence interna.
Istituito il 26 luglio 1908, rappresenta il principale braccio operativo del Dipartimento della Giustizia degli Stati Uniti . L'FBI ha sotto la propria giurisdizione oltre duecento categorie di reati federali e ciò lo rende di fatto il maggiore ente di polizia giudiziaria del governo degli Stati Uniti. Il motto dell'FBI è "Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity" .
