Waco è un comune degli Stati Uniti d'America e capoluogo della contea di McLennan nello Stato del Texas. La popolazione era di 124 805 persone al censimento del 2010, il che la rende la ventiduesima città più popolosa dello stato.
Le popolazioni indigene occuparono le zone limitrofe al fiume Brazos per migliaia di anni. In epoca storica, nell'area che corrisponde alla città odierna era stanziata la sottotribù dei Waco , appartenente alla confederazione dei Wichita.
