Il Minareto di Kalyan è anche conosciuto come "la torre della morte" perché le persone condannate a morte (un tempo!) venivano gettate dalla cima del minareto. Il Minareto di Kalyan risale al 1127. Il minareto di Kalyan è stato costruito da Arslan-khan ed è il simbolo principale della sacra Bukhara. È realizzato in mattoni ed è alto 45,5 metri. A terra, il minareto ha un diametro di 9 metri, in cima 6 metri. Il cilindro è coronato da una rotonda con 16 finestre. Il minareto è collegato alla moschea di Kaylan tramite un piccolo ponte. Attraverso 105 gradini si arriva alla rotonda.
