De kasteelruïne van Kropfsberg is de ruïne van een kasteel op een heuveltop in de gemeente Reith im Alpbachtal op een torenhoge heuvelrug in het Inntal boven de stad St. Gertraudi.
De aartsbisschoppen van Salzburg kregen grote delen van het Zillertal. Onder aartsbisschop Konrad I van Salzburg werd in de eerste helft van de 12e eeuw het eerste kasteel gebouwd aan de ingang van het Zillertal. Het was waarschijnlijk gewoon een toren omgeven door muren. Het kasteel werd door de aartsbisschoppen gebruikt als zetel van het hof en het bestuur van Salzburg. Kropfsberg werd voor het eerst genoemd in een document uit 1286.
