De Oude Residentie in de oude stad van Salzburg is het aartsbisschoppelijk paleiscomplex. Het uitgebreide gebouw ligt tussen het huidige Domplatz, Residenzplatz en de huidige Sigmund-Haffner-Gasse en is voor het eerst rond 1120 documentair vermeld. Uitgebreide nieuwbouw vond plaats vanaf ongeveer 1600 onder aartsbisschop Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau en werd onder Markus Sittikus en Paris Lodron voltooid. Onder Franz Anton graaf von Harrach werd de gevel gemoderniseerd met grotere ramen. De Dietrichsruh in het westen, als voorheen tweedelig tuincomplex uit de tijd rond 1605/11, werd rond 1790 gedeeltelijk afgebroken en in het noordwesten vervangen door de nieuwe gebouwen van het zogenaamde Toskanertraktaat.
