Het IJzeren Huis staat op het Grazer Zuid-Tirolerplein in het vierde stadsdistrict Lend. Het werd in het midden van de 19e eeuw gebouwd als een gietijzeren skeletbouw en is tegenwoordig deel van het in 2003 opgerichte Grazer Kunsthaus. De plannen waren van de architect Josef Benedict Withalm. Het Palais Thinnfeld sluit direct aan op de bouwsubstantie.
