Het station Lienz is het belangrijkste station in Oost-Tirol. Het is een belangrijke stop op de Drautalbahn. Het station bestaat sinds 1871 en werd na zware beschadigingen in 1944/45 tussen 1947 en 1950 opnieuw opgebouwd.
Het Lienzer station werd in 1871 gebouwd volgens de plannen van Wilhelm von Flattich. Aangezien het station Lienz de belangrijkste halte was van de verbinding tussen Villach en Franzensfeste, werd het station in Lienz uitgevoerd als een klasse I. stationsgebouw.
