Het omwalde kasteel van Neigem werd in de 13de eeuw opgetrokken als versterkte burcht. Het werd in de 16de eeuw volledig verbouwd en in de 20ste eeuw, na een verwoestende brand, volledig heropgebouwd. In 1949 werd het kasteel met één verdieping verlaagd, maar dit werd weer ongedaan gemaakt in 1990, toen het hele gebouw in de zo oorspronkelijk mogelijke staat werd hersteld. Het kasteel is deels in zandsteen en deels in baksteen opgetrokken. De inrijpoort naar het kasteel, die zich aan de Dries bevindt, dateert uit de 18de eeuw.
