Reeds in 1108 werd door een groep rijke boerenfamilies in de dorpskern een eerste bedehuis opgericht wat later in 1470 vorm kreeg als de Onze-Lieve-Vrouwkerk waarvan het gotisch koorgedeelte bewaard bleef. Het middenschip werd aangepast in 1776. Reeds in 1712 kreeg de kerk een barokke westgevel. In 2004 werden de gevels volledig gerenoveerd.
