Deze Anglo-Normandische villawijk is een groot stuk duingrond dat in 1889 in erfpacht werd gegeven aan particulieren om er een romantische belle epoque-wijk aan te leggen. Het was de Duitse urbanist, Joseph Stübben, die het gezicht van De Haan bepaalde. Het geklasseerde tramstation en de villawijk ten noorden van de tramlijn zijn mooie voorbeelden met Engels-Normandische vakwerkelementen die zo typisch zijn voor de belle epoque-architectuur aan onze Kust. Een wandeling in deze wijk is een absolute aanrader en brengt je meteen in een sfeertje anno 1900.
