Bij de eerste dwarsstraat word je beslist getroffen door de uitbundig versierde art nouveau-huizen links aan de overkant. De verrassing wordt compleet als je merkt dat de hele straatzijde van de Vanderschrickstraat, zonder één enkele uitzondering, in deze stijl bewaard bleef. Op twee jaar tijd bouwde Ernest Blérot liefst 17 huizen. Ook al werkte hij met dezelfde basiselementen, toch is de afwisseling enorm. Sla linksaf de straat in, zodat je vanop het linkertrottoir de overzijde perfect kan bewonderen. De grootste troef van Blérot was zijn smeedwerk, maar ook de glasramen en sgraffiti zijn pareltjes. De rij eindigt met het café-restaurant La Porteuse d’Eau.
