Tot lang na de middeleeuwen was de streek rond het Bouvelobos een dichtbebost gebied. Het Bouvelobos is een restant van ongeveer 15 ha van dit ooit zo grote woud, Scheldewoud geheten. Het bos is privébezit maar je hebt er wel een mooi zicht op vanuit de Holdestraat in Anzegem.
