Van op het uitkijkplatform, gelegen langs het Artiestenpad, krijg je een panoramisch zicht over de Duinzoom Oosthoek. Dit is de overgang tussen duin en polder.
De oude bosstrook kent een rijke variatie aan olmen of iepen: gladde, ruwe, Hollandse en
vooral de zeldzame fladderiep. In de poelen en sloten vinden we diverse moerasplanten en amfibieën zoals de Europees beschermde kamsalamander en rugstreeppad.
