De in 1899 ingewijde neogotische kerk van Saint- Antoine-Ermite in Pepinster is het werk van priesterestheet Sylvain Balau en architect Clément Léonard. Ze verwijst naar de vroeggotiek uit de 13de eeuw. Hoewel het bouwwerk van vanbuiten erg sober is, heeft het een rijkinterieur (triomfkruis, schilderij De kroning van de maagd …), het werk van de beste Belgische ateliers en kunstenaars uit die tijd. Ook opmerkelijk is het gebroken tongewelf waarvoor Léonard het «Francart-systeem» gebruikte, bestaande uit metalen balkjes waarin dakspanen uit beschilderd terracotta werden geplaatst.
