De graaf Constant du Val de Beaulieu, burgemeester van Bergen, verwerft in 1803 de abdij van Cambron. Zijn zoon, generaal Édouard Duval de Beaulieu de Blaregnies, laat het huidige kasteel bouwen op de plek van de oude infirmerie van de abdij. De bouw, die tussen 1852 en 1854 plaatsvond, is te danken aan de Atho-se architect Désiré Limbourg. Hij heeft gewerkt voor Leopold I evenals voor zijn zoon. Van dezelfde periode dateren de smeedijzeren hekken bij de ingang van het terrein, die zijn gekenmerkt met de met elkaar verweven initialen DVB van de graven van Beaulieu. De familie du Val bezat ook het kasteel van Attre en het kasteel van Beaulieu nabij Bergen.
