Count Constant du Val de Beaulieu, mayor of Mons, acquired the abbey of Cambron in 1803. His son, General Édouard Duval de Beaulieu de Blaregnies, had the current castle built from the former infirmary of the abbey. Spread between 1852 and 1854, the construction is attributed to the architect from Ath, Désiré Limbourg. He worked for Leopold I as well as for his son. From the same period, wrought iron gates located at the entrance of the property are embossed with the intertwined initials DVB of the Counts du Val de Beaulieu. The du Val family also owned the castle of Attre and the castle of Beaulieu near Mons.
