Hier, aan de rand van het woud, vestigde zich in 1905 een groep wereldverbeteraars van de anarchistisch-communistische kolonie L'Experience. Dit zou de start moeten vormen van een libertaire maatschappij van de 20ste eeuw. De organisatie was gelinkt aan de GCL of Groupement Communiste Libertaire, gesticht door Georges Thonar, oprichter van de Belgische Werkliedenpartij.
