Op het dorpsplein van Etikhove werd op 12 september 1926 een 'varkenskermis' georganiseerd n.a.v. de officiële opening van het nieuwe weefatelier "Société de Tapis d'Art De Saedeleer et C°", waarin zowel Valerius De Saedeleer als zijn dochters een belangrijke rol speelden. Het aantal genodigden op deze varkenskermis werd geschat op 400; er waren heel wat vooraanstaande gasten uit de politieke en culturele wereld, onder wie architect Henri Vandevelde, minister Wouters, Stijn Streuvels, Geo Verbanck, Edgard Tytgat, Georges Creten, Albert Saverys, ...
