Terug naar de Werthplatz (Werth, Keltisch = eiland).Van de hoogte van de Kaperberg liepen langs beide zijden kleine beekjes naar de beek beneden, zodat de plaats een eiland werd. In het midden van het plein werd in 1912 een Oorlogsmonument opgericht ter nagedachtenis aan de gevallen soldaten in de oorlog van 1866 (tegen Oostenrijk), dit jaar 150 jaar geleden, en van 1870-71 (tegen Frankrijk).
