Description

Dit gebied situeert zich rond de vallei van de Maarkebeek, op het grondgebied van de dorpen Etikhove, Edelare, Leupegem en Maarke-Kerkem. In het zuiden van de ankerplaats meandert de Maarkebeek. De beek is dikwijls vergezeld van beekbegeleidende vegetatie. Ten noorden daarvan ligt een steile helling met taluds, die grotendeels onder grasland ligt. Op de top van de heuvel ligt de kouter, een open akkerlandgebied. Holle wegen komen op de helling en heuveltop voor. De ‘Naamloze Boom’ maakt er ook deel van uit.
