Gietijzeren kolommen, een staalskelet en enorme ramen typeren katoenspinnerij en -twijnderij La Nouvelle Orléans. Bovenop de vierkante trappentoren komt een waterreservoir voor de brandblusinstallatie. Na een overname door UCO, blijft de fabriek actief tot 1988. Het terrein is vandaag eigendom van de Stad Gent en wacht op een nieuwe invulling.
