‘De Bonte Os’, waar het fraai gerestaureerde hotel Van Eyck is gevestigd, zijn Maaslandse renaissancegebouwen met een streng en deftig uitzicht. Die strenge eenvoud spreekt onder
meer uit de gebruikte Maaskalksteen, die zonder profiel oordeelkundig in de muurvlakken is aangebracht.
