Een kerk in haagbeuk is de hoofdrolspeler in dit park. Het is een herinnering aan de vroegere abdijkerk van de Sint-Baafsabdij, die in de 16de eeuw door Keizer Karel werd verwoest.
Naast de kerk is er ruimte om te spelen of een buurtfeest te houden. Het park is lichtjes hellend aangelegd. Het watert af naar een moeraszone, die regenwater opvangt en in de bodem laat infiltreren. Door het witte poortgebouw van het vroegere slachthuis loopt een fiets- en wandelpad.
