We beklimmen nu een ijzerzandsteenheuvel tot ongeveer een hoogte van 45 meter boven de zeespiegel. Op de oudere stafkaarten staan hier de namen Konijnenberg, Rommelaarberg en Middelborg. De naam Konijntjesberg dateert van de 20ste eeuw. De ijzerzandsteen komt hier aan de oppervlakte. De grond is zandig en niet erg vruchtbaar. Daarom werden hier dennen aangeplant. Van hieruit heb je een mooi panorama op Rillaar tussen Aarschot en Scherpenheuvel.
