In het zwem- en stoom-badencomplex Sportoase Veldstraat bevindt zich een prachtig 33 meter bad waar het heerlijk baantjes trekken is! Dit zwembad is het oudste nog bestaande zwembad van Antwerpen (1933) en werd in 2006 in haar oude glorie hersteld. De architectuur is een mengvorm van modernisme en art-deco. Via de ingang van de Alfonds Engelsstraat kan je kiezen voor een bezoek aan het badenhuis of de hamam (18+, badkledij verplicht, € 13). Als je het hier vriendelijk vraagt kan je wellicht via het balkon even een blik op het zwembad werpen. Aan de achterkant van het gebouw (Viséstraat) bevindt zich "Het Oude badhuis", nu een cultureel wijkcentrum, vroeger een plaats waar mensen uit de buurt die thuis niet over een douche of bad beschikten terecht konden voor een wekelijkse wasbeurt.
