Het Vergotedok wordt vooral gebruikt voor de overslag van bouwmaterialen en ijzerrecyclage.
In het afgeronde deel van het dok is een deel van de kaaimuur met beton verstevigd, elders in het dok zijn de muren van steen. Hier ging vroeger de Willebroekse Vaart de stad in en vervolgde daarna haar weg waar nu de Willebroekkaai is.
