De Sluis van Lot is één van de 7 sluizen die de schepen ongeveer 40 m lager brengen tussen de voet van het Hellend vlak van Ronquières en het centrum van Brussel. Dagelijks worden hier enkele tientallen schepen versast.
Merk ook op dat de Lotbeek ongeveer onder de bovenste sluisdeur van de ene oever naar de andere onder het kanaal doorsteekt. De Lotbeek vervolgt haar traject van het centrum van Lot parallel aan het Kanaal nog tot in Drogenbos, alvorens in de Zenne uit te monden.
