Die Schleuse Lot ist eine der 7 Schleusen, die die Boote um etwa 40 m zwischen dem Fuß des schiefen Plans von Ronquières und dem Zentrum von Brüssel hinunterlassen. Täglich passieren dort mehrere Dutzend Boote.
Es ist auch erwähnenswert, dass der Bach namens 'Lotbeek' von einem Ufer zum anderen unter dem Kanal hindurch verläuft, ungefähr unter der oberen Tür der Schleuse. Der Lotbeek setzt seinen Verlauf parallel zum Kanal vom Zentrum von Lot bis Drogenbos fort, wo er in die Senne mündet.
