La chiusa di Lot è una delle 7 chiuse che portano le navi circa 40 m più in basso tra il piede del piano inclinato di Ronquières e il centro di Bruxelles. Qui vengono transitati quotidianamente una decina di navi.
Si noti anche che il Lotbeek attraversa il canale da una sponda all'altra quasi sotto l'anta della chiusa superiore. Il Lotbeek prosegue il suo percorso dal centro di Lot parallelamente al canale fino a Drogenbos, prima di sfociare nello Zenne.
