Weinig laat vermoeden dan in dit niet zo aantrekkelijk gebouw zowel industriegeschiedenis als televisie- en muziekgeschiedenis geschreven werd. Ingenieur Edmond Thumas richtte hier samen met zijn vrouw Marie Durieux het wereldberoemde conservenbedrijf Marie Thumas op. Later, in 1980 kwam hier de megadacing Manhattan. En dat werd dan een televisiestudio waar Willy Sommers 'Tien om te zien" presenteerde; Maar ook 'Thuis' met Simonneke en Frank Bomans werd hiet opgenomen. Ook Jeroen Meus kwam hier ooit nog terecht met zijn restaurant.
