Dit kasteel is gelegen in de Lakebossen.
'Raepen' verwijst niet naar de groente, maar is een schrijffout van 'Paepen' of monniken. Dit bosgebied was vroeger immers eigendom van de Brugse Ter Duinendabdij.
In 1800 werd hier een kasteeltje in empirestijl gebouwd. In 1925 werd het kasteel verbouwd tot het neoclassicistisch kasteel dat het nu is.
De voorgevel heeft een ingangspartij met balkon, gedragen door vier zuilen.
Vermoedelijk werd het park in 1840 in hoofdlijnen aangelegd. Later in de 19e eeuw werd het park gewijzigd met meer elementen van de landschapsstijl met slingerende paden en vijvers. Ook in de 20e eeuw werd de parkstructuur nog aangepast.
