Sandbostel is een plaats in de Duitse deelstaat Nedersaksen. De gemeente maakt deel uit van de Samtgemeinde Selsingen, gelegen in de Landkreis Rotenburg . Sandbostel telt 814 inwoners.
In de Tweede Wereldoorlog was in Sandbostel een krijgsgevangenen- en concentratiekamp, Stalag X-B Sandbostel. April 1945 overlijdt aldaar aan uitputting gevangene Anton de Kom. Zijn boek ‘Wij slaven van Suriname’ verscheen in gecensureerde vorm in 1934 in Nederland. Tijdens de oorlog was De Kom in Den Haag actief in het communistische verzet. Hij werd gearresteerd in 1944, en kwam in april 1945 om door tbc in dit Duitse concentratiekamp Sandbostel.
