Het Knockster Tief is een deels natuurlijk, deels kunstmatig ontstaan water in de gemeente Aurich en de stad Emden in Oost-Friesland. Kleinere rivieren en kanalen worden in de regio vaak Tief genoemd. Het is vernoemd naar het landstreek Knock, het westelijkst punt van Emden en daarmee het zuidwestelijkst punt van het Oost-Friese schiereiland. Bij de daar gelegen sluis en het pompgemaal Knock bevindt zich de doorgang naar de Ems. Het Knockster Tief is de belangrijkste afwateringsweg voor grote delen van het zuidwestelijke Oost-Friesland. Samen met zijn nevenwateren voert het volledig of grotendeels het water af van de gemeenten Emden, Hinte, Krummhörn, Südbrookmerland en de Samtgemeinde Brookmerland, daarnaast het stadsdeel Leybuchtpolder van de stad Norden en kleinere delen van de stad Aurich en de gemeente Ihlow.
