De Ordnungspolizei is de gemeenschappelijke noemer voor lokale politie-eenheden die de dagelijkse politietaken moest uitvoeren in nazi-Duitsland tussen 1936 en 1945. Door het gebruik van groene uniformen stonden zij ook bekend als Grüne Polizei.
Tijdens de Weimarrepubliek bestond er geen nationaal politiekorps. Elke Duitse deelstaat had zijn eigen politiemacht die werd gecontroleerd door de Minister van binnenlandse aangelegenheden van de desbetreffende staat. In januari 1934 startten de nazi's een reorganisatie door de controle en uitvoeringsmacht van het politie-apparaat te centraliseren. Op 26 juni 1936 vaardigde Reichsführer-SS en Chef der Deutschen Polizei im Reichsministerium des Innern Heinrich Himmler een decreet uit waardoor de Duitse politie-eenheden in twee afdelingen werden verdeeld: de Ordnungspolizei en de Sicherheitspolizei .
