Prestewitz is een deelgemeente van de stad Uebigau-Wahrenbrück in de Brandenburgse Landkreis Elbe-Elster en ligt ongeveer 4 km ten noorden van Bad Liebenwerda aan de rechterkant van de Kleine Elster in het natuurpark Niederlausitzer Heidelandschaft. Momenteel wonen hier 376 inwoners. De totale oppervlakte van de plaats bedraagt 6,08 km².
Aangezien Wr- in de aanvang niet voorkomt in het Sorbische, Tsjechische of Pools, moet worden uitgegaan van een Nedersaksische of Midden-Duitse afkomst van de schrijver. In het Oud-Sorbische betekent Brestovica zoveel als Elmenplaats, wat naast de ronde boerderijvorm van de oude dorpskern en plaatsnamen van Prestewitz op een Oud-Sorbische benaming wijst.
