Het ontspringt bij Dietersdorf ten oosten van het brongebied van de Nasse en ten zuiden van het brongebied van de Schöneberger Wipper, een bronrivier van de Wipper. De Glasebach stroomt door het Borntal en heeft bij Agnesdorf een zijrivier. Vervolgens stroomt hij door de Bauerngraben, waar hij in het zuidelijke deel van het Seebecken in de jongere gips verdwijnt.
Het lot van het water dat via een karst systeem verdwijnt, is nog niet volledig opgehelderd. Een deel van het water vult het ook wel als Questenhöhle aangeduide Heckersloch, dat via de Breitunger Erbstollen opgelost wordt. Water komt o.a. weer uit de Wickeröder Hüttenquelle.
