Krippehna ligt in de driehoek van de steden Eilenburg, Bad Düben en Delitzsch. Het dorp ligt niet aan een geclassificeerde weg, maar er zijn verbindingen naar Noitzsch, Zschepplin, Naundorf en Wölkau. Door het dorp stroomt een kleine zijrivier van de Leine.
Krippehna is qua nederzettingsvorm een lanen-groepsdorp. Het maakte tot 1815 deel uit van het keurvorstelijk Saksische, respectievelijk koninklijk-Saksische Amt Eilenburg. Door de besluiten van het Congres van Wenen kwam het dorp bij Pruisen en werd het in 1816 toegewezen aan de Kreis Delitzsch in het Regierungsbezirk Merseburg van de provincie Saksen, waartoe het tot 1952 behoorde.
