Im Nordwesten des Ortes liegt das bekannte "Benninger Ried" ein Naturschutzgebiet, in dem die in Deutschland einzigartige "Riednelke" wächst. Am Rande des Naturschutzgebietes, eingebettet zwischen Wiesen, Birken und Wasser, ist die von der Sage umsponnene Kapelle zum Hochwürdigen gut (Riedkapelle), eine Wallfahrskapelle, deren Ursprung bis ins Jahr 1216 zurückreicht.
