Hohenwutzen is een dorp van het zogenaamde eiland Neuenhagen in de Landkreis Märkisch-Oderland. Sinds de herindeling in 2003 is Hohenwutzen een deelgemeente van Bad Freienwalde.
Hohenwutzen ligt samen met de dorpen Altglietzen, Bralitz, Neuenhagen en Schiffmühle op het eiland Neuenhagen in het noorden van het Oderbruch. Hohenwutzen ligt aan de Bundesstraße 158a en is grensovergang naar Polen. De Poolse buurplaats, gescheiden door de Oder-Neiße-grens, is Osinów Dolny. Met Hohenwutzen is het in het zuiden van het dorp gelegen Neuglietzen samengegroeid.
