De Salzgitter Klöckner-Werke GmbH is een internationaal actieve machinebouwer met activiteiten in de vul- en verpakkings techniek. 100% van het kapitaal wordt gehouden door Salzgitter AG. Het bedrijf biedt geen actieve diensten aan.
Samen met zijn broer Florian richtte Peter Klöckner in 1906 een ijzer- en staalhandelsonderneming op in Duisburg, waaruit later het bedrijf Klöckner & Co. voortkwam. Hun bijzondere aandacht ging uit naar failliete bedrijven, waarvan zij de kapitaal meerderheid veiligstelden voordat ze deze saneren. Dit omvatte voornamelijk staalfabrieken, kolenmijnen en mijnen.
