Fort Ellenserdamm ligt direct ten zuiden van Ellenserdammersiel. Het werd als een gesloten lunet gebouwd. De aanleg was ontworpen voor twee bataljons infanterie. De aanleg had een lengte van 200 meter en een breedte van 100 meter. De gracht is nog grotendeels intact.
Fort Ellenserdamm werd vóór de Eerste Wereldoorlog gebouwd. Ten noorden van de aanleg bevonden zich tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog nog de luchtafweerbatterij Ellenserdam en de batterij Ellenserdamm. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd het heractiveerd voor de luchtverdediging van Wilhelmshaven. De aanleg was tot in de jaren '70 bewoond.
