Il forte Ellenserdamm si trova direttamente a sud di Ellenserdammersiel. È stato costruito come una lunetta chiusa. L'impianto era progettato per due battaglioni di fanteria. La struttura aveva una lunghezza di 200 metri e una larghezza di 100 metri. Il fossato è per la maggior parte ancora conservato.
Il forte Ellenserdamm è stato costruito prima della Prima Guerra Mondiale. A nord dell'impianto si trovavano durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale la batteria contraerea Ellenserdam e la batteria Ellenserdamm. Durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale è stato riattivato per la difesa aerea di Wilhelmshaven. L'impianto è stato abitato fino agli anni '70.
