Atter is een stadsdeel in het westen van Osnabrück. Het stadsdeel had eind 2019 4278 inwoners.
Het beslaat een oppervlakte van 1.067,4 hectare. De bevolkingsdichtheid is met 402 inwoners/km² de laagste van alle Osnabrückse stadsdelen. Atter werd op 1 juli 1972 bij Osnabrück gevoegd.
Aan Atter grenzen de stadsdelen Eversburg in het noordoosten, Westerberg in het zuidoosten en Hellern in het zuiden. In het westen grenst Atter aan de Noordrijn-Westfalen gemeente Lotte, hier doorkruist de autobaan 1 ook het stadsdeel. De historische grens met Eversburg wordt gevormd door de Eversburger Landwehrgraben, terwijl de grens met Westerberg in een recreatiegebied door de Rubbenbruchsee loopt. In het noordwesten van Atter, aan de grens met Lotte, ligt de Attersee. Het belangrijkste waterloop in Atter is de Düte, die omgeven is door natuurlijke rivieroevers.
